One of the country’s leading Telecommunications’ providers hired Veritas Search to evaluate their recruiting strategy for the Midwest. The company was having a difficult time filling a critical Regional Sales Director position. The position was still unfilled after 6 months even though they had a team of internal recruiters and 2 staffing firms working on finding candiates. Veritas was initially asked to evaluate their current recruiting methods in an effort to discover why they were unable to secure the right talent.


We concluded that 90% of the recruiting that was being conducted was internet based utilizing large scale internet recruiting and job board sites- this group of candidate’s reflects 10% of the market. They were not engaged in direct sourcing out of the competition which left an enormous block of the best candidates untouched, the gainfully employed top candidates which accounts for 70% of the qualified talent pool.
